Here’s the story, of a quiet house in an older, established, suburban neighborhood in eastern Colorado Springs. The house was built in 1967, with solid bones and a clean, classic, no-frills layout. It’s pretty spacious, with almost 2,000 sq ft of usable space, and a wicked big backyard perfect for relaxing in the evening or a great BBQ with friends and family. This story might have started in 1967, but over the course of the years, this house has clearly been taken care of, and updated. The basement, for instance, is totally finished with a living room/den and another bedroom. One day, some folks put in this really cool retro bar in the basement too. “I only drink to make YOU more interesting!” That’s what the sign says next to the bar. Spot. On.
This house in this quiet neighborhood…over the years some other development grew up around it. A lot of useful stuff, especially for families. There’s a Walmart just a couple of blocks away. And also…the Colorado Springs Airport…it’s like 10 minutes away too. Other things, like movie theaters, restaurants, some great shopping, all sprung up around this house just a few years ago. With easy access to some of the great destinations for travelers to the Colorado Springs area, this house could’ve developed an ego, a complex, a megalomania. But instead, it stayed humble, simple, and perfectly itself.

The Space
This home is unassuming but comfortable and clean and perfectly practical. Guests also have access to the attached 1 car garage. Keep your car clean and warm. Enter through the front door and into the living room. The home has obviously been cared for. It is clean and with an obvious, practical layout. The kitchen and dining area are directly ahead, and off to the left are two well-appointed bedrooms with a great bathroom to service both. Downstairs is a great separate living space complete with another living room/den and a bedroom featuring a king size bed. There’s also a bar along with a futon perfect for kids to sleep on. The backyard, accessible through the garage, is a great outdoor living space with green grass and mature trees and space for the kids to play or for a sporting outdoor match of your choosing.
The Neighborhood
Located on the east side of Colorado Springs in a mature, established mid 1960’s neighborhood, this home is close to the “Powers Corridor” with exceptional access to the Airport, big box stores like Walmart, and also plenty of newer retail, restaurant and entertainment centers. Tree-lined streets and quiet, comfortable, working-class blocks offer homes with practicality and tried-and-true square mid-century designs. Access to any of the sites and attractions in Colorado Springs such as Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, the Broadmoor, Downtown, the Air Force Academy, and more, is great as Powers Blvd was created really to efficiently link these eastern neighborhoods with other parts of the city.

Although restaurants, parks and other attractions are located within walking distance from this property, we recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in Colorado Springs. Also, we can provide you with specific bus routes to help you get around.
