Built in 1904 at the height of the Victorian era in Colorado Springs, this classic, elegant & stately home awaits guests looking for something different. With 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 parlors, a full kitchen, a formal entrance, wooden staircase, 2 floors, chandeliers, wood-beamed ceilings, and original, handsome nods to that last-century classical motif, this short-term rental is the unique choice, the truly special option for your stay in Colorado Springs. Located just a few blocks north of Downtown in the classic Old North End neighborhood, walk or ride to restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment and return to your grandiose Victorian getaway. We thought about including Mrs. Patmore the cook, and Mr. Carson the Butler, but they were disposed with previous engagements.

The Space

This short term rental is comprised of a separate unit of the larger home, and represents approximately 60% of the property square footage—though perhaps the best of the home, the elegant and original living areas, are included in this rental. Enter through the front door and into the Grande salon or entrance room. Just off to the right is the first of two parlors, with elegantly styled furnishings suitable to the times of the home’s design. Rich wooden finishes abound throughout. Chandeliers light the way. The second, larger parlor features exposed wooden beams in the ceiling as well as a classic, sandstone fireplace sourced from local quarries, brick and original red tile inlays. The formal dining room is ready for entertaining or merely relaxing in style and comfort. In the rear of the home is the first bedroom, open and bright. The modern kitchen lies behind it, next to the first, full bath accented with original marble tile. Next to this is the largest of the bedrooms, with a comfortable and massive king-sized bed. A smaller half-bath is adjacent to this.

Ascend the wooden staircase to the home’s second level, where two more bedrooms and another elegant, marble full bathroom await guests. The rooms here are open, warm and bright, and feature a shared pass-through. One bedroom contains a queen bed, the other a queen and day-bed. This home is large and fanciful, and awaits guests looking for a classic, comfortable getaway while they visit and explore the Pikes Peak region.

The Neighborhood

Located just north of downtown Colorado Springs, this neighborhood was built around the turn of the 20th century and before, and features mature, tree-lined streets serving handsome, large, classic homes—many of which were designed in the Victorian style, the mansions of the day. The home is also just a few blocks from Colorado College, a prestigious liberal arts school and many of the homes in the surrounding area cater to students. Just a short walk or bike ride away is some great dining, eating and shopping…especially toward the north end of downtown around the intersections of Tejon and Boulder Streets. Try the Odyssey Gastropub, Rasta Pasta or Rico’s for exceptional eats, or Supernova for an energetic drink or two. For a truly memorable cocktail, try Brooklyn’s on Boulder, serving creatively crafted drinks made exclusively from locally distilled gin. Regardless of your tastes, you’ll find something to enjoy in this classic, cared-for neighborhood. And of course, the best and most well-known attractions like Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, the Broadmoor and Manitou Springs are all just about 10 minutes away by car.

Transportation

Although there are restaurants, bars, cafes and parks accessible by foot or bike from this property, we still recommend that you have a car or use Uber or Lyft when traveling in Colorado Springs. Also, we can provide you with specific bus routes to help you get around.
